Marsden Cove Marina Development
Works Overview
This project required the establishment of native
plants, on the excavations created as the result of
the Marsden Cove marina development. This included two constructed wetlands and a large watercourse that required a mass revegetation and wetland planting. The correct plant selection and methodology used has been an essential element to the successful outcome of this project.
Works included:
Background Marsden Cove is a new coastal marine development on the shores of the Whangarei Harbour. The development consists of 350 canal frontage lots, a 230-berth marina and 350 residential lots. As a result of the development the existing watercourse was diverted through a series of constructed wetlands, a man-made water course and then out to sea. Purpose
