Works Overview

totara_views_boardwalk.JPGWetland Solutions completed this project on-time and within budget. A high degree of flexibility is required when implementing soft landscape works while housing construction and further development phases are in progress.

Works included:

  • Street Trees (44)
  • Amenity & reserve planting
  • Plant supply (5,536)
  • Stormwater sediment control
  • Bollards and seating

Background

Universal Homes purchased land for a 4 year staged premium housing development that required a combination of revegetation, amenity, street tree and stormwater retention control plantings.

Purpose

  • The project was designed to encourage interest in the new development stages, by enhancing internal roading with plantings and providing newly developed reserve areas for the public that extend existing council reserves and walkways in the area.

  • It was further intended to fulfil the requirements of the resource consent conditions, by planting a large constructed stormwater sediment control pond.

Scope

  • Stage 4 – Included several reserve area plantings, bollard and seating, stormwater retention pond planting and street trees.

  • Ongoing maintenance – Ecological weed control and plant replacements.
