Wetland Solutions completed this project on-time and within budget. The success of this project was reliant on selective weed control followed by a generous planting density.
Close monitoring enabled early identification of threats to plant establishment and ensured the timely implementation of weed control methods in keeping with provident planting techniques that facilitate the natural succession process.
This property is located in the Franklin District. The land was grazed and used for beef breeding. A stream ran along the southern boundary where poplars had been planted to stabilise bank erosion. A small amount of native remnant scrub existed and there was a small wetland.
The desired outcome was to create an additional title to the property using the existing wetland to to fulfil the Franklin District requirements for rural subdivision.
The project was designed to enhance the existing wetland to meet the ½ hectare (5000m²) of protected wetland (conservation lot planting) required by Franklin District Council for subdivision.
